Healthcare Focused on Prevention, Focused on You
From a very early age, Dr. John D. Swift and Dr. Karen L. Miller recognized the human illness and disease around them. They wanted desperately to help those people who were physically sick, but they also wanted to know how to keep them – and themselves – healthy. Today, their mission is the same.
Dr. Swift and Dr. Miller’s emphasis in medicine has always been about prevention. Data from many years of medical research has shown that we can largely control our own destinies by the way we eat, sleep and exercise. Our diet, for example, controls our risks of getting many cancers, congestive heart failure, heart attack, heart diseases, stroke and even dementia. Proper diet, being physically active and getting enough quality sleep can help save your life.
Instead of focusing all or most of their attention on a few common medical conditions, they focus on the patient and patient’s particular health problem, and finding the best possible solution. They invest time with each patient, hearing their concerns, answering their questions and caring for them like their extended family – just as they have done for so many people of all ages in Port Orchard, Seabeck, Silverdale and Bremerton (Kitsap County, WA), Belfair (Mason County, WA) and neighboring areas.

J David Swift, MD
“From a very early age I recognized illness and disease. I wanted to do something to help those who were physically sick and I wanted to know personally how to stay healthy. My main emphasis in medicine has always been prevention.
“Data from many years of research has shown that we can control our own destiny to a certain extent in the way that we eat, sleep and exercise. Our daily diet controls our destiny for such things as cancer, heart attack and stroke, even dementia.
"There is nothing to compare with having the privilege to help someone I’ve known over 20 years. The patient and doctor interaction is incredibly important. It is quite a privilege to solve health problems and help keep my patients healthy.”
